Jorge González

English.- Jorge González was born in Madrid in 1988. He rose to fame through his participation in the fifth edition of the Spanish television competition, Operación Triunfo, which aired in 2006. Before finally being able to audition, he tried to convince his parents for two consecutive years. At that time, he lived with his parents in Madrid and had not received any formal musical instruction by the age of 18, when he finally managed to register and participate in the competition.

During Operación Triunfo, Jorge González drew inspiration from composers like Luis Miguel and Juan Luis Guerra when selecting the repertoire he would present, ultimately achieving eighth place. Although he didn’t win, Jorge left the show with a contract with the record label Vale Music, with which he released his debut album, titled in Romani language «Dikélame», in the summer of 2007. The album included the single «Xikila baila», with which he embarked on a concert tour. His second studio album, «Vengo a enamorarte», was released in 2009. That same year, Jorge participated in the pre-selection to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest. In February 2018, he took part in the LIX International Song Festival of Viña del Mar, Chile, with the song «Tu boquita», and in August-September of the same year, he competed in the Cerbul de Aur, a festival held in the Romanian city of Braşov, with «Esta noche». Jorge González regularly attends the Evangelical Church, as he professes this religion. He was married and is currently separated, with two children. In 2020, Jorge González’s participation in the eighth edition of «Tu cara me suena» was announced, where he emerged victorious thanks to his great work throughout the program. In 2022, he joined the musical «La jaula de las locas» for a few months, playing the role of Jacob. In 2024, he participated as a contestant in the Benidorm Fest 2024, with his song «Caliente».

Español.- Jorge González nació en Madrid en 1988. Se dio a conocer gracias a su participación en la quinta edición del concurso de televisión español, Operación Triunfo, que se emitió en 2006. Antes de finalmente poder presentarse en las audiciones, intentó convencer a sus padres durante dos años consecutivos. En ese momento, vivía con sus padres en Madrid y no había recibido ninguna instrucción musical formal a la edad de 18 años, cuando finalmente pudo inscribirse y participar en el concurso.

Durante Operación Triunfo, Jorge González se inspiró en los compositores Luis Miguel y Juan Luis Guerra al seleccionar el repertorio que presentaría, logrando alcanzar finalmente el octavo lugar. Aunque no ganó, Jorge dejó el programa con un contrato con el sello discográfico Vale Music, con el que lanzó su álbum debut, titulado en lengua romaní «Dikélame», en el verano de 2007. El álbum incluyó el single «Xikila baila», con el cual realizó una gira de conciertos.

Su segundo álbum de estudio, «Vengo a enamorarte», fue lanzado en 2009. Ese mismo año, Jorge participó en la preselección para representar a España en el Festival de la Canción de Eurovisión.

En febrero de 2018, participó en el LIX Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar, en Chile, con la canción «Tu boquita», y en agosto-septiembre del mismo año, compitió en el Cerbul de Aur, festival celebrado en la ciudad rumana de Braşov, con «Esta noche».

Jorge González es asiduo concurrente a la Iglesia Evangélica, ya que profesa dicha religión. Estuvo casado y actualmente está separado, con dos hijos.

En 2020, se anunció la participación de Jorge González en la octava edición de «Tu cara me suena», donde resultó vencedor gracias a su gran trabajo a lo largo del programa.

En 2022, se incorporó durante unos meses al musical «La jaula de las locas», interpretando el papel de Jacob.

En 2024, ha participado como concursante del Benidorm Fest 2024, con su canción «Caliente».
