FIRST TIME AT MASPALOMAS PRIDE BY FREEDOM?
If so, there are some things you should know to fully enjoy the most massive and international event in Gran Canaria, Maspalomas Pride By Freedom:
The epicenter of the Maspalomas LGTBI+ Pride celebrations is the Yumbo Shopping Center, located in the heart of Playa del Inglés. For those unfamiliar, Yumbo is the most famous LGBT shopping center in the world. It has dozens of bars, shops, restaurants, and more, all dedicated exclusively to the community. In the center of Yumbo, you will find a huge public square. This is where PRIDE PARK, the “Main Stage,” will be located, where for 11 nights you can enjoy live performances, shows, and great pop and house music parties at no cost, meaning it’s completely free. On the sides of the square, you’ll find Freedom’s drink bars, a non-profit organization that carries out this great event. By consuming at these bars, you’ll be helping to finance the Pride. However, there are many other bars where you can enjoy a good drink, dance, and meet thousands of people. There is a preferential area or “VIP Zone” in the front line of the Main Stage with an exclusive bar and restrooms. Those with a Pride Pass can enjoy this area.
HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR DAY DURING YOUR STAY
IN THE MORNING: Enjoy Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, and the world’s best climate: visit the Dunes, sunbathe on the beautiful beaches of Playa del Inglés, sightsee, eat well, and rest up for what’s to come!
IN THE AFTERNOON: At Freedom, every afternoon we offer the best events to dance and meet a lot of people: great pool parties, themed parties, and many performances at the best locations within the municipality just a few minutes’ walk or taxi ride from PRIDE PARK (LGTB accommodations, parks, etc.). Only the official events announced on this website and our social media are guaranteed to take place and are included in the Emergency and Protection Plan. These events require a ticket for access. To ensure your entry, you can buy these tickets in our store.
IN THE EVENING: Every night, starting at 9:00 PM, head to PRIDE PARK and enjoy the best programming:
- 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Welcome Music
- 10:00 PM – 12:00 AM: Live Performances (singers, shows, fashion night, contests, etc.)
- 12:00 AM and until late: Themed parties with the best national and international brands and lots of music to keep you dancing with the best DJs of the moment.
DAY OF RECLAIMING AND FLOAT PARADE The great day of reclaiming and marching to defend LGTBI+ rights is always celebrated on the second Saturday, that is, on the afternoon of May 10, starting at 4:00 PM. Bring your colorful clothes and come to claim and have a good time in the grand parade with more than 30 floats. If you want to board one, you must buy your access on our website or through the sales channels of the participating floats. The route starts at the intersection of Avenida de Gran Canaria and Avenida de Tirajana and ends at Avenida de Estados Unidos, next to PRIDE PARK. Starting at 7:00 PM, the Main Stage fills with more than 80,000 people from the community to dance for 10 hours to the music of great DJs and singers. You can’t miss this. Completely free event!
PRIDE PASSES It is the best option to enjoy Maspalomas Pride. With your Pride Pass, you have exclusive access to the VIP Zone of PRIDE PARK and guaranteed ticket-free access to all official daytime events, as well as a number of drinks/consumptions to order at our bars in the center of the square depending on the VIP Pass you choose. PRIDE PARK PASS includes:
- Access to the VIP Zone located in the front line of the main stage in Yumbo Square from May 4 to May 10;

- 7 drink tickets to consume at the bars in Yumbo Square.
PRIDE PARK PASSES can be picked up in the VIP area next to the Yumbo stage every night from May 4 to May 10 or at the entrance to any of the official daytime events.
FULL PRIDE PASS includes:

Access to the VIP area in the front row facing the Pride Park main stage from May 4 to 10
